Bay Village Police came through big time last week when they saved family pets in a terrible house fire that took place on E. Oakland Dr.
On Friday January 9th at 9:10 a.m., Bay Village Police were dispatched to assist the Bay Village Fire Dept. with a possible structure fire in the 24000 block of East Oakland Road.
Bay Police arrived and spoke with the original callers who were out jogging when they noticed smoke pouring from the roof of the residence. 
The witnesses also stated they could see a dog inside, in distress. Officers quickly breached the front window for access, pulling the dog out, performing CPR before transporting it to the animal hospital.
Firefighters from Bay Village, Rocky River, Westlake and Lakewood arrived to battle the fire. During this time, a second dog was located, also in medical distress. CPR was performed before it was transported to a local animal hospital.
The homeowner was contacted and she reported no one was home but there were 3 dogs and a turtle inside. Unfortunately, It was later discovered that the other animals inside were found deceased.
