Lorain County Public Health (LCPH) is again seeking applicants for their Healthy Places Grants. LCPH aims to fund projects that will build healthier communities and make a long-lasting impact for health. Any nonprofit, government agency or community organization that serves Lorain County can apply for up to $10,000. All application materials can be found at LorainCountyHealth.com/HealthyGrants. The deadline to apply is Feb. 20, 2026. LCPH will award a total of $50,000.
“We are committed to investing in local projects that make long-term health accessible for everyone in Lorain County,” says Mark Adams, MPH, REHS, Health Commissioner at LCPH. “These grants empower our community partners to create lasting changes that will improve the quality of life for our residents for years to come.”
Proposed projects should change the physical landscape to improve health in a public space. Examples include walking trails, bike racks, lighting, community art, community gardens and outdoor fitness equipment. LCPH staff offer technical assistance both through the application process and during project implementation. LCPH will notify awardees on March 9, 2026. All grant projects must be completed by Nov. 30, 2026.
Interested applicants can attend an optional informational session (webinar) on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026 from 12-1 p.m.
