Westlake Announces Approved Practice Facility at Meadowood Golf Course

The City of Westlake is pleased to announce plans for a new, state-of-the-art Practice Facility at Meadowood Golf Course.

Guided by the mission of the City of Westlake—along with its Mayor, City Council, and employees—to enhance the quality of life for all residents by providing high-quality services in an efficient and cost-effective manner, this project represents an exciting investment in our community’s recreational offerings.

According to the 2015 Master Plan Study, golf ranked among the most desired recreational amenities for Westlake residents. In response, this new facility is designed to elevate the local golf experience while expanding year-round access for players of all ages and skill levels.

Project Highlights

The new Practice Facility will include:

  • 18 Indoor Heated Bays – Ideal for year-round practice, regardless of weather conditions
  • 1 Indoor Training Bay – Dedicated space for lessons and swing analysis using advanced technology
  • Outdoor Open-Air Tees – Additional practice opportunities during fair weather
  • Grass Tees – A premium feature not widely available in the region, offering a true on-course feel
  • Advanced Swing Technology – Innovative tools designed to improve skills and provide engaging entertainment for individuals, families, and groups
  • Clubhouse Renovation – Updates to the existing clubhouse to complement and support the new facility

Planning and Project Timeline

Planning for this project has been underway for several years. In 2023, the City administration began working with American Structure Point, Inc. to complete the design work for the project.  On December 18, 2025, City Council approved the construction contract with Town Center Construction.

  • Groundbreaking: Planned for March 2026
  • Construction Completion: Expected in late 2027

During construction, Meadowood will continue to operate with two 9-hole par-3 courses to accommodate the patrons.  Due to the construction, discounted rates and additional specials will be offered. Clubhouse rentals will end on March 31st, 2026.

What’s Next: Phase 2 – Course Redevelopment

To help guide this important decision, the city is surveying Westlake residents and Meadowood patrons to gather input on preferred course options.

Options currently under consideration include:

  • A 9-hole regulation course, or
  • An 18-hole par-3 or executive course
