UH St. John Medical Center Advances Khouri Center for Emergency Medicine with $500,000 Gift

UH St. John Medical Center recently welcomed Leadership Council members and community supporters for an update on the ongoing renovation of its Emergency Department, enhancing care in the Khouri Center for Emergency Medicine.

During the event, Brian Monter, Chief Operating Officer, and Heidi Filer, Director of Operations and Clinical Services, highlighted construction progress and shared how the project is strengthening emergency care for more than 38,000 patients served annually.

A highlight of the evening was the announcement of a $500,000 commitment from Leadership Council members Tim and Debbie Doyle, further accelerating the transformation of emergency services at St. John.

“This project is about making sure our community has access to high-quality emergency care when it matters most,” said Leadership Council Co-Chair Gary Ebert. “The generosity we’re seeing, including this remarkable commitment – shows how deeply our community believes in that mission.”

The renovation will enhance patient comfort, privacy, and efficiency while expanding capacity to meet growing demand. Guests concluded the evening with guided tours, seeing firsthand the progress underway.
