Happy 100, Ruth Lesko!

Happy 100th birthday to Ruth Lesko of Westlake!

Ruth celebrated her birthday with a huge bash at Avon Oaks Country Club, hosted by her children Gary, Sandy, Linda and Janet last Sunday. “This party is a celebration of all of you,” exclaimed the always cheerful Ruth to the 200 guests in attendance who enjoyed food, cake and even a swing band.

Ruth was married to noted Westlake architect Nick Lesko for 71 years. They both were born in the Birdtown area of Lakewood and attended Lakewood High School and Cleveland College (now Case Western Reserve). They moved to Westlake 70 years ago where Nick was well known as the architect of several Westlake Schools, including Holly Lane, Parkside and Bassett Schools.

Ruth went on to earn a Masters Degree at Oberlin College and taught English for North Olmsted Schools and English as a second language. Of Ukrainian descent, Ruth has always held the immigrant close to her heart.

Ruth served as Marketing Director for Lesko Associates Architects and is also a founding member of Friends of Porter Library.

Happy birthday, Ruth Lesko!
