Normandy Senior Living: CWRU Lifelong Learning Program

The Normandy Senior Living is hosting “The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly: Angels and Devils in Art” by Case Western Reserve University The Laura and Alvin Siegal Lifelong Learning Program on Tuesdays, 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. from September 15 – October 27 by Instructor Sean Crum at Avalon Hall at Breakwater Apartments, 22701 Lake Road, Rocky River.

The history of art is filled with good guys and bad guys, angels and devils, beautiful things and ugly things. It was bad that the Cathedral of Notre Dame caught fire. What was good was the worldwide response to restore it. Claude Monet created the most beautiful paintings of gardens and landscapes in art history. Michelangelo painted an epic masterpiece in the Sistine Chapel. The Tudors employed some of the greatest court painters but had some of the worst monarchs, and one of the best.
