Jack Miller of Rocky River, Ohio, has been accepted into the Peace Corps. Miller will depart for Lesotho on September 26 to begin training as a primary education teacher.
Miller is a 2026 graduate of Wittenberg University with a bachelor’s degree in history.
“I first experienced Lesotho in the summer of 2024 through Wittenberg University’s month-long service-learning program. My former history professor and the Honorary Consul for the Kingdom of Lesotho, Dr. Scott Rosenberg, also encouraged me to serve with the Peace Corps,” said Miller.
As a primary education teacher, Miller will collaborate with educators and school staff to strengthen literacy, numeracy, and life skills.
The son of Jennifer and Mark Miller of Rocky River, Miller joins the 98 Ohio residents currently serving in the Peace Corps. More than 7,430 Ohio residents have served in the Peace Corps since 1961.
Peace Corps volunteers serve in host communities for two years following three months of training and receive a living stipend, housing, extensive language and technical training, and financial benefits that can include graduate school fellowships after service.
