Westlake Porter Public Library’s Annual Health Fair Returns on November 14

Westlake Porter Public Library’s annual Health Fair returns Saturday, November 14. Patrons can visit with local health-related organizations, receive free health screenings from 1 to 4 p.m., attend wellness programs, and enter a raffle for a wellness basket.

Patrons can register to attend two featured programs. In Staying Aware: Protecting Yourself and Loved Ones Against Common Scams, Captain Jason Dancy from the Westlake Police Department will show attendees how to protect themselves and their families from common scams. The program begins at 1 p.m.

During How to Better Manage Relationships: Understanding Attachment Styles, representatives from Ellie Mental Health will teach patrons how to foster healthier connections with important people in their lives and how to break out of negative cycles. The program starts at 2:30 p.m.

Registration is required for both programs.

In addition to those sessions, attendees can receive free liver, blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, vision, and hearing screenings. Attendees are required to register for the liver scan and fast for three hours prior to it. Patrons can also visit area wellness organizations to learn more about various health topics and resources.
