Bay Sends Five to State Track Meet

This past weekend , the Bay High track team posted many great performances at the OHSAA Regional Track and Field Championships in Amherst.

Ivan Slyepkan was crowned Regional Champion by placing 1st in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:18.92.  Chloe Rickson placed 2nd in the long jump with a jump of 17′ 7 1/4″.  The Boys 4×800 meter Relay Team placed 4th with a time of 7:59.64.  Those members on the relay were Ivan Slyepkan, Everest McKenna, Jude Ault, and Khaled Hamil.

Kenna Johnston placed 9th in the shot put with a throw of 36′ 1/4″ and Jared Riess placed 5th in the long jump with a jump of 21’4 1/2″.  Also, Maeve Milligan competed in the pole vault just missing out on clearing 10’6″.  Ivan Slyepkan placed 15 in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:02.71.

The OHSAA State Track and Field Meet will take place at Jesse Owens Stadium on the campus of the Ohio State University.  The 4×800 meter Relay will compete on Friday, May 31 at 5pm.  Chloe Rickson will compete in the long jump on Saturday, June 1 at 3pm.  Ivan Slyepkan will compete in the 1600 meter Run on Saturday, June 1 at 5:15pm.
