‘Home of the Rockets’ Campaign Hits Milestone

Bay Village’s nonprofit ‘Home of the Rockets’ campaign has hit a milestone in its push to improve facilities at Bay Memorial Stadium.

“THANK YOU, BAY VILLAGE!!!,” says the group on its facebook site. “We have crossed the 1 MILLION DOLLAR mark for HOTR!!! We are at $1,015,000!! The next MAJOR milestone is getting to $1.3M by April 30th so we can break ground this year. Please donate, share, and donate again! Together we can create a legacy worthy of our one-of-kind community. Let’s do this!!”

The goal of Home of the Rockets, Inc. is the construction of a new building on the south end of Bay Memorial Stadium. This project will provide students with stadium access to facilities and shelter, create a gathering place for fans, and inspire pride in our students, teams, and community. The new 4,000+ square foot building will include much needed heated home and away team rooms, trainer room, new restrooms, modern concessions and a surrounding plaza. We have approximately 2,500 students within the school district of which 70% will regularly utilize our stadium in some capacity. “Our total fundraising need is $1.6 Million, and we have already received commitments for over $900,000 from various individuals and organizations including the Bay Village School Board, Bay Rockets Association (boosters), Bay Soccer Club, Bay Lacrosse Club and Kiwanis. We are actively seeking donations from corporations and individuals up to and including naming rights opportunities.”
