Bruce Hamilton Day in Westlake
Westlake Mayor Dennis M. Clough recently recognized one of the City’s longest continuous Westlake residents at Claudette’s Cafe & Deli. Bruce Hamilton has lived in Dover/Westlake since 1930, where he raised four children alongside his wife Charlotte. Bruce and Charlotte have been married for more than 70 years.
Bruce is often described as an honest, hard-working individual, who is always willing to lend a helping hand. He genuinely cares for others and has extensive knowledge on automobiles, as well as the history of the City of Dover/Westlake. Bruce began his career working at the old Sauer’s Corners garage which stood at the site of the current Speedway station. Mayor Clough was proud to present him an official Proclamation declaring Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2022 as Bruce Hamilton Day in the City of Westlake
Celebrating Diversity
The City of Westlake is proud to recognize October as Hindu Heritage Month. October is an important period for Hindu culture as it features three significant celebratory festivals: Navratri, Diwali and the Durga Puja.
To commemorate the occasion, Mayor Dennis M. Clough presented an official Proclamation to Westlake residents Desi and Viji Vijay, who accepted it at Westlake City Hall on behalf of the local Hindu community.
Welcome to Westlake
The City of Westlake is proud to welcome Ptl. Douglas Cairns and Ptl. Nathanial Inal to the Westlake Police Department! Mayor Dennis M. Clough swore in the new officers during a ceremony at City Hall on Monday.
Ribbon-Cutting at Rae-Ann
The City of Westlake is pleased to recognize Rae-Ann Nursing Facilities, which recently added a new ventilator unit to their Westlake-based facilities. Rae-Ann spokesperson Jessica McGranor explained that prior to addition the nearest facility with such an amenity was in Norwalk, making for a long drive for those needing ventilator care for a loved one. Westlake Mayor Dennis M. Clough attended a ribbon-cutting for the new unit on Sept. 29 where he praised the move as an example of how the community of Westlake prioritizes looking after others.

Cornerstone Wealth Management recently moved into a new office off of Center Ridge Road here in Westlake. Mayor Dennis M. Clough came out to celebrate the occasion with the company along with Economic Development Manager Michelle Boczek and John Sobolewski of the West Shore Chamber of Commerce and The Power of More. The Mayor helped cut the ceremonial ribbon alongside Cornerstone President Nick Dionisos and Vice President Michael Kelley II.
