Q-Lab Corp. Says “Thank You for Your Service”

For 42 years, Q-Lab Corporation has called Westlake home. Each summer, Q-Lab invites Westlake Safety Personnel to its campus at the north end of Canterbury Road for a day of food, music and fun. It’s a tradition that captures Q-Lab’s commitment to community, quality and service.

Here is what Q-Lab CEO Doug Grossman has to say to Westlake’s police and firefighters.

“We are blessed with excellent police and fire departments in Westlake. We want to express our sincere appreciation for YOU, the dedicated men and women who stand ready to put themselves in harm’s way on our behalf.

Summer Ride…. Nothing like a nice ride on a summer afternoon – unless it’s a mechanical bull ride! Q-Lab Westlake World Headquarters employee Raquel Holland took her chances on the bodacious contraption last Thursday as Q-Lab welcomed Westlake Police & Fire personnel for their annual summer picnic.

“Q-Lab has been manufacturing in Westlake for 42 years, (we built our factory around the corner on 1st street in 1981… “seems like only yesterday”) and in addition to our team members around the world, we have nearly 200 employees that work here. Over those years, our employees have had many, many interactions with Westlake safety forces. We have always found you to be responsive, professional, helpful, and an incredible asset to our community. We are proud of you.

“Civilized life would be impossible without police protection. The most basic function of government is to protect the citizens from violent individuals who intend to do harm. The police are required to put themselves into all kinds of difficult situations in order to protect us. We are grateful to the dedicated people of our police force, for taking on such an extraordinarily challenging, and oftentimes thankless job.

“Likewise, fire has been destroying lives ever since humans built the first huts out of sticks and thatch. Nowadays, when fire gets out of hand, we, the citizens, can run away — because we know that brave firefighters will run toward the danger. The Westlake Fire Department really knows their trade. If we ever have a fire, we have absolute confidence that you are the folks that can handle the emergency.
