Nate Gentry
Congratulations to Westlake High junior Nate Gentry, a junior who wrestles at 215 pounds for the Demons. Nate went 4-0 at the annual Ant Classic hosted at Westlake last Saturday. Nate also leads the team with 14 pins.
The Ant Classic is the namesake of longtime Westlake High School wrestling coach Mike Antonyzyn, who was recently inducted into the Ohio Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum. A 1968 Westlake graduate, Coach Antonyzyn dedicated his career to teaching and coaching at WHS and continues to support the program even after retirement. He was previously inducted into the Westlake High Hall of Fame in 2016 and received a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014. He was one of eight inductees in the 2025 Ohio Chapter class.
That legacy lives on through the Coach Ant Wrestling Classic, which began in 2014 and now hosts eight teams, including Westlake High School, with plans to welcome even more teams in the future.
