Revolutionary War Veterans Self-Guided Cemetery Tour
As part of North Ridgeville’s America 250 observance, the North Ridgeville Historical Society will mark the graves of local Revolutionary War veterans so residents can take part in a self-guided cemetery tour.
The tour will be available on Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Graves will be marked for 11 Revolutionary War veterans at Center Ridge Cemetery and one Revolutionary War veteran at Fields Cemetery. The Historical Society will also provide information to help share the story of each veteran and recognize their connection to the founding of our nation. Residents are invited to visit at their own pace and take part in this meaningful opportunity to reflect on local history during America 250.
Community, Wellness and Local Connections
While July’s America 250-OH theme highlights homecomings and picnics, the spirit of the month is really about something familiar to every community: bringing people together.
On Saturday, July 25, North Ridgeville will host two community-focused events at LCCC University Partnership Ridge Campus:
North Ridgeville Farmers Market, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Residents are invited to stop by, support local vendors and enjoy a morning centered on healthy eating, local partnerships and community connection.
Community Mental Wellness Fair, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. The Mental Wellness Fair will feature resource tables and community organizations offering information, support and opportunities to strengthen overall wellness. The event is free and open to all community members.
Together, these events reflect what America 250 is all about at the local level: neighbors, partnerships and shared care for the places we call home.
Senior Center America 250-OH Picnic
On July 30, the North Ridgeville Senior Center will celebrate July’s America 250-OH theme with a special Super Thursday America 250-OH Picnic at 4 p.m.
The event will include patriotic music by the Polka Pirates and an afternoon of food, fellowship and community spirit. Participation is open to adults ages 55 and older. The cost is $5 and registration is due by July 27. To register or learn more, call the Senior Center at (440) 490-2056.
