The USO of Northern Ohio Lifting the Spirits of Our Troops & Their Families Since 1941, the USO of Northern Ohio has served as a civilian non-profit group that lifts the spirits of our troops and their families. The need is as real as ever. The USO of Northern Ohio provides programs supporting troops from 29 counties, including the Military Entrance Processing Station at Cleveland Hopkins Airport. The annual USO Golf Outing & Clambake at Sweetbriar in Avon Lake is the leading fundraiser for this work in our area. “Serving Our Neighbors Who are Serving Our Country”

The 12th annual USO of Northern Ohio Golf Outing & Clambake took place at Sweetbriar Golf Course on Fri., Sept, 12, reminding all of the important work that needs to be done in support of our troops who keep America safe.

The USO has supported American troops and their families since World War II. The need has never diminished. It is more important than ever that troops  are remembered and supported now.  No one can be sure what ISIS is about in the Middle East, but they are not what Americans are about.

Because the United States military reflects the diversity of our nation, the USO offers various programs specially designed to lift spirits and strengthen resiliency in those associated with American military. The USO of Northern Ohio offers specific support through resources like the USO Canteen at the Military Entrance Processing Station in Cleveland, The Bob Hope/USO Lounge at Hopkins Airport, and hospitality support for deployments, welcome home events, family days and holidays for troops.

Many thanks to the participants in this year’s Sweetbriar USO Golf Outing. Their resources will be put to good use in support of American Troops.
