Lakewood Elks Lodge #1350 generously donated the use of its facility at 24350 Center Ridge Rd. in Westlake to Connecting for Kids for a recent Bowling Fundraiser which raised $27,000 for the Westlake-based nonprofit. UH St. John Medical Center paused last week to extend special recognition to long-time employee Laura Woods. In February, the Westlake Elementary Schools Health and PE Department held its annual Kids Heart Challenge event. During PE class the students participated in a variety of heart healthy activities including yoga, dance and cardiovascular Tabata workouts.
