Q: Why do some dogs get married?
A: They like being kept on a short leash!
Dogs said, “I do” at the 5th annual Valentine’s Social at Paws by the Lake in Avon Lake on Sat., Feb. 3.
“Do you promise to love, honor, cherish and disregard each other’s personal history?” asked K-9 Minister Diane DeChant as the happy couples trotted up the rose-petal runway.
Other pooches settled for smooches in the Kissing Photo Booth.
It was all for a good cause as Paws by the Lake at 33757 Lake Road chipped in again this year for the Love-a-Stray fundraiser.
The event featured refreshments for doggies and humans, including kibble wedding cake. Fun Valentine’s toys and apparel were for sale from a Pet Grooming Boutique and there was an Adoption meet and greet for prospective families.
No reservations were needed for the nuptials as lots of folks brought their furry friends for fun in support of a great cause.
All proceeds went to all volunteer, non-profit rescues: Love-A-Stray and FIDO’s Companion.
