On June 21, 2013 a Bay Village resident received a call from a company that claimed to be preparing to deliver the woman’s senior care monitor. The resident ordered no such device and was asked by the company for her address and personal information. Other residents have also received calls from these scammers. If you receive such a call, do not provide any information and terminate the call.
On June 23, 2013 a resident reported her Visa was fraudulently used to purchase an iPad from NEWEGG.COM. The caller learned the iPad was mailed somewhere in Ohio.
Bay Village PD received a complaint of a noise disturbance at Columbia Road Beach on June 17, 2013 at 11:22pm. Columbia Road Beach closes at dusk. Responding officers located a group of five juveniles gathered near the park stairs. While speaking with the juveniles, suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia was located at their feet. All the juveniles were charged with curfew and one juvenile was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. All were released to parents at the scene.
A Sandalwood resident reported on June 21, 2013 that the family cat had been shot twice with a pellet gun within the previous 9 hour span. The cat was taken to a vet where they discovered the two pellets. Police have no information on when or where the cat was located when it was shot.
On June 20, 2013 Bay Village Police received an anonymous complaint of a woman going from garage sale to garage sale and leaving her young children locked in the vehicle while she shops. Various garage sales were checked by police but they were unable to locate the woman.
Bay Village Schools reported on June 20, 2013 person(s) had damaged the new baseball dugouts at the High School over the weekend.
On June 20, 2013 at 10:18 pm, an Aldrich resident called to report she heard a commotion in her garage. She discovered that someone had entered her garage and stole alcohol from her refrigerator. To prevent theft, please remember to secure your garage a door when they are not inuse .
