AVON – Clinical Hypnotherapist Don Mannarino, MA, of the Connor Integrative Medicine Network at University Hospitals (UH), will present two group hypnotherapy sessions at UH Avon Health Center on Thursday, March 6. The first session will focus on weight loss, and the second will focus on smoking cessation.
Hypnosis is defined as a state of inner absorption, concentration and focused attention which taps into and harnesses the power of the human mind. The unique state of consciousness has been proven, through numerous research studies, to offer countless possibilities for healing, positive change, and self-exploration.
From 6:30 – 7:30 p.m., Don will guide participants in bringing to an end compulsive, impulsive and emotional overeating. With Don’s skillful guidance and the power of positive suggestion, participants will regain self-control and self-discipline; begin choosing foods that are healthful rather than harmful; and end the emotional and psychological craving for sugars, sweets and salty foods.
From 7:30 – 8:30 p.m., the focus shifts to smoking cessation, where participants will learn to become a non-smoker again. The habit of smoking starts in the mind. Through the power of positive hypnosis, it can end in the mind. Smoking is a choice, and through hypnosis, the choice to smoke will be reversed with no unpleasant withdrawal or weight gain.
The cost for participation is $75 per session, and includes a supplemental CD to take home. UH Avon Health Center is located at 1997 Healthway Drive, near I-90 and Route 83. To register for either session, please call 216-767-8435.
Don is a nationally certified clinical hypnotherapist, and is a respected authority on utilizing advanced induction methods of authentic hypnosis as taught and practiced by the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis. Prior to joining the Connor Integrative Medicine Network, Don provided clinical hypnosis for several major health organizations, including the American Heart Association and the American Lung Association.
