Bay Rockets Snoball Run is Feb. 21st

Saturday, February 21st marks the date of Bay Athletic Boosters’ 2015 SNOBALL 5K Race/Walk and 1-Mile Fun Run, with a start and finish at Bay High School, 29230 Wolf Road. Race kicks off at 9 a.m. Primary race sponsor is Cleveland Lumber.


SNOBALL Race Chair Tim Brajdic said, “This is our third year for the SNOBALL Run. The race continues to grow and is a great community event! The addition of five special awards last year—including first baby in a stroller to cross the finish line and first dog to cross the finish line—truly added to the spirit of the morning.


“New to the race in 2015 are individual-level sponsorships for $50,” said Brajdic. “As with the other sponsorships, the names of individual sponsors will appear on the back of the race T-shirt. Fifty-dollar sponsors will also receive a SNOBALL Run T-shirt.”


Race awards will be given to top finishers in the following categories: Top Overall Male and Female. Top three male and female in the following age divisions: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65 and over. Additional 5K awards will include: the first dog to cross the finish line (with its owner), the first baby in a stroller to finish, the runner who travels the furthest to participate, the most senior runner to finish and the best costumed/spirited runner.


The SNOBALL Run is managed through Hermes Race Systems. Pre-registered participants receive a long-sleeved, cotton T-shirt, post-race food and drinks and a pancake breakfast. A “Spectator Only Pancake Breakfast” will be available through online and “day of” registration for $5. Bay coaches will volunteer as celebrity pancake servers.


Pre-register online at or download mail-in forms at Pre-registration costs for the SNOBALL Run are $15 for students and $20 for adults. Mail-in registration deadline is Wednesday, February 18th and online registration deadline is by 9 a.m. Friday, February 20th. Early packet pickup and race-registration will be available on Friday, February 20th from 3-7 p.m. at Bay High School Auditorium. Late, day-of-race registration begins at 7:30 a.m. at Bay High and costs are $20 for students and $25 for adults. T-shirts and other items available while supplies last for late registrants.


SNOBALL Run sponsorships are currently available at $500 (Gold), $250 (Silver), $100 (Bronze) and $50 (Individual) levels. To become a sponsor, contact Tim Brajdic at (440) 864-0183.


A volunteer-driven, nonprofit organization, Bay Athletic Boosters is dedicated to raising funds to promote and support the athletic teams at both Bay High School and Bay Middle School.
