Wet Grounds Bring Changes to Bay Days

Wet grounds in Cahoon Park mean changes for Bay Days this year. Bay Village Mayor Debbie Sutherland reports that parking will be limited and much of the carnival will be contained in paved areas of the park. Here is her letter:d_sutherland_1-10_261x365

Dear Fellow Residents:

Because of the saturated ground due to the recent heavy rains, the Bay Days carnival cannot be set up in its usual spot in Cahoon Park.  Instead, for the safety of all, it will be set up in the parking lots and paved areas surrounding the Community House.   The closure of Cahoon Road between Wolf and Lake will begin today so that set up can begin.  Additionally, because of the very wet conditions, no parking will be allowed on the west side of Cahoon Park in order to preserve the condition of the soccer fields.  As a result, parking spaces in Cahoon Park will be very limited for both Bay Days and for the fireworks on Saturday evening.  Very limited parking will be available at the Bay Village Police Station and at the Bay Village Middle School.

To avoid parking frustration, we urge everyone to walk or ride bikes to the events.  Thanks for your patience and please have a safe 4th of July!
