Bay Resident Defrauded for $12K in Credit Card Charges

A resident in the 28000 block of Wolf Rd. reported to Bay Police on June 24 that he had been the victim of a fraud.  Someone had charged over $12,000 to one of his credit cards, and attempted to open up another card in his name.  Police are investigating.bay police logo 130121011959_bay-village-police-300x168

More Water

Just what we need – more water! On 06/24/2015, at 0103 hrs, a BVPD officer observed a vehicle stopped on Wolf Rd. near Clague.  As the officer got closer to the vehicle, he observed a female squatting in the roadway near the driver’s door and urinating in the roadway.  The officer pulled in behind the vehicle and spoke to the driver, who was now seated in the vehicle.  After speaking with the 34 yoa driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result the driver was arrested for OVI.  The Lakewood resident will face charges at RRMC.

Bay High Break-In

On 06/20/2015, at 0248 hrs, the Bay Village Fire Department responded to the Bay High School for a fire alarm.  While they were checking on the alarm they realized that someone had entered the school and caused damage.  Police responded and are currently investigating the incident.  Later in the day, there was also damage reported to some of the construction equipment in the parking lot.  If anyone saw or heard anything suspicious in the area of Bay High School around this time they are asked to please call the Bay Village Police at 440-871-1234.

OVI in MVA

On 06/23/2015, at 1754 hrs, BVPD officers were dispatched to an accident at the intersection of Bradley Rd. and Walker Rd.   After speaking with the driver’s involved, the officers suspected the at fault driver had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were administered, and as result, the 52 yoa female at fault driver was arrested for OVI.  The Avon Lake resident will face charges at RRMC.

Suspended License

On 06/24/2015, at 0002 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Lake Rd. near the Rocky River line for a traffic violation.  After checking the owner’s driving record, officers learned the driver had a suspended driver’s license and an active warrant with Rocky River Police.  The 21 yoa Lakewood resident was cited for the traffic violations and turned over to Rocky River Police on the strength of their warrant.  He will face charges at RRMC.

OVI

On 06/24/2015, at 0258 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Lake Rd. near Dover Center for several traffic violations.  After speaking with the 29 yoa male driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking and using drugs.  Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, the driver was arrested for OVI.  The Lakewood resident will face charges at RRMC.

Fraud

On 06/26/2015, at 1500 hrs, a Crestview resident reported she had been the victim of a fraud.  Someone had fraudulently cashed over $2,300 worth of her checks.  Police are investigating.

Underage Drinking

On 06/28/2015, at 1752 hrs, BVPD responded to a house in the 26000 block of Normandy on the report of underage persons drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana in the backyard.  After investigating, officers arrested two underage adults and one juvenile for Underage Alcohol Prohibitions.  The adults will face charges at RRMC and the Juvenile will be filed on at CCJC.

OVI

On 06/28/2015, at 22335 hrs, a BVPD officer stopped a vehicle on Lake Rd. near Canterbury for a traffic violation.  After speaking to the 34 yoa female driver, the officer suspected the driver had been drinking.  Field sobriety tests were administered, and as a result, the driver was arrested for OVI. The Cleveland resident will face charges at RRMC.
