We have lost a most dedicated teacher and advocate for special needs children. Ann-Marie Young, Bay Middle School intervention specialist, has passed away. A memorial service will be held Monday evening at 7 P.M. at Harvest Ridge Church, 35600 Lorain Road in North Ridgeville. Please keep Ann-Marie’s family in your thoughts and prayers. It has been reported by her place of worship, Harvest Ridge Church, that Ms. Young suffered a massive heart attack last week.

“I am so very sorry to report that Ann-Marie Young, an intervention specialist at Bay Middle School, passed away,” said Bay Schools Supt. Clint Keener. “Ann-Marie was a tireless advocate for her special education students. She won a number of grants that brought special programs in for them. One example is the Global Arts Project which brought in local arts groups to work with her students. Ann wanted to offer international experiences for her students that mirrored the opportunities their peers experienced in French or Spanish classes.”
