National entertainment figure Chrissie Fit has also been booked to headline the show that will run from 5-7:30 p.m.
Fit is an actress and singer who starred as CheeChee in the Disney Channel Original Movie, Teen Beach Movie.
Cocker Park Director of Marketing Dan Crandall said the new show will bring an exciting concept to the west side. “I think what we are producing will be real unique for this area and really exciting,” he said.
Crocker Park has invested many hours and resources into new lighting for the event along with the new Tree Garden in the West Park and a new 28-foot tree down by Yard House. The evening will also feature local musical acts, family-friendly activities and costumed characters throughout Crocker Park.
During Chrissie Fit’s act will be a special presentation with Make-A-Wish as five-year-old Michael Thorsky from Eastlake is surprised by his favorite superheroes with a special gift and exciting news that his wish to visit Disney World is being granted.
Following this performance will be a sensational act by magician Stephen Knight, who will help welcome Santa and magically light up Crocker Park for the season with the brand new holiday light show.
Crocker Park’s traditional fireworks show is not on the schedule of attractions.
Crandall said the 2015 focus for the event was on family entertainment. The Crocker Park Santa House, giant Snow Globe, train rides and Holiday Village with train town will be open. “Tree Lighting is about the kick-off to the holidays, and counting down with Santa to light the tree.”
“We’re working with Tom BetGeorge from California to program the 200,000 lights all choreographed to popular holiday music, the event is sure to be the first of its kind in the Greater Cleveland area – people will want to come to Crocker Park to enjoy the lights nightly,” he said. “What we are producing will be very exciting and continuing to bring the magic to Crocker Park.”
