Avon Police Department Resources for Parents and Teens

Avon Police Header The city of Avon Police Department offers two great resources for parents and teens to use.

“Test My Teen” Drug Prevention Program: Concerned, involved parents are the strongest deterrent kids have for staying off drugs. To help both parents and teens win the battle against drug involvement, the Avon Police Department is kicking off a new “Test My Teen” drug-prevention program that is designed to keep parents in touch with what is really going on with their teens and give teens a way to stop peer pressure dead in its tracks when friends urge them to experiment with drugs and alcohol. The program allows parents to download a voucher for one FREE, home drug-test kit from the City Website: www.cityofavon.com/238/Test-My-Teen. To download the voucher that requires no interaction with police thereby providing parents total anonymity and the ability for families to privately address the issue visit the programs website: www.testmyteen.com.

Avon SchoolsTeen Home Alone Program: The “Teen Home Alone Program” is designed to reduce or eliminate the opportunity for teenage underage parties to occur in the City by parents and police working together to stop unsupervised teenage parties. Visit the Avon Police Department website to learn more: www.cityofavon.com/239/Teen-Home-Alone.
