The festive atmosphere grew with anticipation under a beautiful autumn twilight as the homecoming court was introduced. The Eagle football team, ranked first in the state in Div. II, lived up to expectations with a 54-21 win over Lakewood. The rout lifted the Eagles to 7-0 overall this year. The team is also ranked first in its region in the OHSAA Div. 2 poll.

Homecoming is celebrated in grand style in Avon. A week’s worth of fun included a festive Spirit Week at Avon High. It included different themes for each day of the week, all leading up to the Thursday evening Homecoming Parade from Avon High to Joe Firment Stadium for a Pep Rally and Powder Puff football game. The official Homecoming Court presentation took place on the field before the game against Lakewood. The week concluded with the annual Homecoming dance at Avon High School on Saturday night.
