Westlake Has One Winner in Cleveland Clinic Art Expressions Program

Westlake High School senior Jamie Novak won an Honorable Mention in the Cleveland Clinic eXpressions Art Program this year.

The eXpressions Art program is an interdisciplinary program that utilizes the arts to engage high school students in the world of scientific research. Through project-based, peer-to-peer learning, students produce creative interpretations of research conducted by Cleveland Clinic science interns.

Westlake students competed against about 1,700 art, language and math projects from 61 schools. Honorable Mention winners receive $25. Each teacher of an award-winning student also receives a $100 educational grant. Westlake art teacher Kelly Atkinson supported Jamie in this effort.

Winning students will have their work displayed as part of the annual eXpressions eXhibition, Feb. 15-March 23, at the Global Center for Health Innovation.
