Academic Challenge Teams Place in National Contest

The Westlake High School and Lee Burneson Middle School Academic Challenge teams had strong finishes in the national Questions Unlimited Spring 3-2-1 Competition.

The WHS team finished first in the nation out of 153 competing schools, while the LBMS team finished 12th in the nation out of 83 competing schools. Students compete as a team to answer more than 100 questions online.

WHS team members are Ryan Karpuszka, Patrick Lee, Richard Garber, Talya Jeter, Kyle Yu, Jack Wu, Zahraa Abdulameer, Daniel Mather, Albert Zhou, Mihir Shetty, Shane Quinn, Vivek Aslot and Logan Evans.

LBMS team members are Rhett Bilski, Alicia Ge, Neige DeAngelis, Subratha Araselvan, Williamson Niceman, Hannah Goyetche, Matt Taylor, Jack Frew, Katherine Xiao, Daniela Danilova, Ethan Drake and Joey Baker.

Academic Challenge advisers are John and Sandy Packis.
