Commencement for graduating seniors of Avon Lake High was last Saturday, June 2 at 6:30 p.m., at Avon Lake High School Memorial Stadium.
Class Valedictorian is Marisa Barilla. She will be attending The Ohio State University and major in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering
Class Salutatorian is Sarah Durisek. She plans to attend The Ohio State University majoring in Health Sciences.
The Avon Lake High Class of 2018 totals 281 graduates. 70 percent of grads plan to attend a four-year university while 15 percent plan to matriculate to a 2-year school. 6 per cent are headed to military service.
The amount of scholarship dollars offered to Avon Lake High grads amounts to $24,084,968.16. Add to that the $82,100 awarded on Scholarship Night, the grand total of scholarship monies projected for the Avon Lake Class of 2018 is $24,167,068.16. Congratulations to all!
