The Dog Days of summer are here and Moose’s Mission of Avon is supporting their blanket and toy drive for dogs with a number of Lemonade Stands around town.
Dedicated to supporting dogs while they await their Forever Homes, Moose’s Mission has provided 1000 pet toys and 800 blankets so far this year to the cause. They donate to many of the area’s pet shelters and rescue resources.
“Thank you to Pinehaven Garden Center & Greenhouses for having the Moose’s Mission lemonade stand this week during their awesome Peach Truck event & to everyone who stopped to support & learn about what we do!” reports founder Jenny McClear.
If you missed them at Pinehaven or at the 4th of July parade at the Aquatic Center, they had some awesome kid volunteers setting up the stand at Petitti Garden Centers this week, too.
“On the 4th, we raised enough money for over 50 blankets to be donated to shelters all across NE Ohio!” reports Jenny. “Yesterday, we raised enough to buy multiple kiddie pools, tons of water toys & shade awnings for the Lorain County Dog Kennel Dogs – this little Avon project is doing SO much for the community & I am so proud of our city!!!”
Look for them in Old Avon Village at the Beer Brats event on July 19 from 5-9.
Moose’s Mission believes that animals waiting for their forever homes in shelters and rescues should have their very own blanket & toy. These items provide comfort both physically and emotionally – when an animal feels safe and happy, they are more likely to show their true personality & find a perfect home! Moose’s Mission is making a difference by providing hands on volunteer opportunities in our community both at events and with materials in our “Moose at Home” kits. With the help of our hundreds of volunteers, Moose’s Mission has donated over 1,500 handmade blankets & 1,000 toys to shelter & rescue animals, all given with love.
(Moose is the McClear’s Golden Doodle. They named the Mission after him).
