The City of Avon, Ohio, in partnership with ‘Super Heroes To Kids in Ohio,’ a 501(c) 3 nonprofit charity, will create a virtual comic book on Saturday, September 8. This event will take place in the area surrounding the Avon Aquatic Facility at 36265 Detroit Road in Avon just after 12:30 P.M. Children overcoming illness and adversity will capture the ‘Super Villains’ holding many famous comic book ‘Super Heroes’ captive in a fictitious takeover of Avon, Ohio.
Celebrities on hand include Dawn Kendrick from WKYC as Lois Lane and Tim Misny as Lex Luther. In addition to those, approximately 40 famous Super Heroes and Super Villains will be available for wonderful family photos afterwards. Children are encouraged to dress in their favorite Super Hero costumes for an amazing day of fun! If inclement weather occurs, the event will be relocated to the Heritage Elementary School at 35575 Detroit Rd. in Avon. Admission is free, but it is asked that people in attendance bring nonperishable food items and/or school supplies to be donated to local charities.
The City of Avon has gone above and beyond to make this a great day for many, even welcoming many non-profits to exhibit their missions of benevolence at the Aquatic Center in a tremendous display of ‘community’. An organization of nearly 80 individuals, it is the goal of ‘Super Heroes To Kids In Ohio’ to (1) perform simple acts of kindness, (2) to recognize individuals who have battled through adversity (3) and to encourage the involvement of ‘community’ to make a positive difference in the lives of others – especially children. ‘Super Heroes To Kids in Ohio’ is a 501(c) 3, non-profit organization not affiliated with Marvel, DC, Disney, or any other company. All acts are done in a charitable tone.
