The City of Westlake recognized two police patrolmen and a jailer for going “above and beyond” in working to protect and serve the city and its residents. Westlake Police Chief Kevin Bielozer and Mayor Dennis Clough presented the officers with the following awards at the Police Department on Wednesday, Feb. 19:
- Jailer Jared Schubert – 2019 Employee of the Year Award
- Patrolman Paul Hartranft – 2019 Officer of the Year Award
- Patrolman Stephen Krebs – 2019 Blue Shield Award
Chief Bielozer and Mayor Clough spoke glowingly of the three police employees and the work they do to help keep the city safe.
Note: The Blue Shield Award recognizes an officer’s efforts to seek out and arrest individuals committing felonious crimes.
