In 2007 Heather started her nursing career at Saint John Medical Center. Her experience there included: on the Medical-Surgical floor, as Charge Nurse and in the Intermediate ICU and Critical Care Units. This broad experience led to her graduate degree in 2014 from the University of Akron.
As a new Nurse Practitioner she managed Long-Term Care, Assisted Living and a Cardiac Unit, caring for very complex cases. In 2016 Rae-Ann had the good fortune to meet Heather and have her join their team.
Her role at Rae-Ann includes managing the long-term and skilled patients, as well as employee visits, assessments and biometric screening. She has a strong presence in all the Rae-Ann facilities and is often seen leaving the building late into the evening to accommodate anyone who needs to see her.
She has seen the amount of charting and paperwork increase over the years, but she remains cognizant of this fact and strives to make sure her patients receive the time and quality care they deserve. Because of her full time presence, she has developed a closer relationship with the residents and their families and she states she is, “humbly grateful for the honor to care for all of the residents.”
During this pandemic she says she is particularly proud to be a nurse and work with the nurses at Rae-Ann. She is impressed with the care and compassion of all the staff and feels the entire team is doing a great job keeping everyone safe at this time.
On a personal note, Heather married her soulmate, Johnathan, 25 years ago and they have 2 married sons and one grandchild. Johnathan works in commercial insurance and has an online ministry. Heather volunteers in the ministry which focuses on teaching bible principles. For fun, the family love the outdoors, especially camping, hiking and rock climbing.
