GEON Performance Solutions Donates 60,000 Face Shields to Hospitals, First Responders, Schools

GEON Relocates Corporate Headquarters to Westlake

GEON Performance Solutions (“GEON”), a global leader in the formulation, development, and manufacturing of performance polymer solutions, has relocated its corporate headquarters from Avon Lake, Ohio, to Westlake, Ohio, and in recognition of the move, is donating 60,000 medical grade face shields to local hospitals, first responders, schools and businesses. The first of the face shields was formally presented to area hospitals during a July 23 event at GEON’s new location in the La Centre complex on Detroit Road.

“COVID-19 has had an incredible impact on our community, and we felt a strong sense of responsibility to do our small part to help our community as it combats the effects of this pandemic,” said GEON CEO Tracy Garrison. “We are grateful for the work of our hospitals, first responders, schools and others who are putting themselves in harm’s way to care for our families, friends and neighbors. We hope by this contribution they see how much we appreciate and value their role in keeping our community safe and healthy.”

GEON recently moved to La Centre from Avon Lake.

The face shields are being distributed by The Power of More, a consortium of 10 Cleveland-area chambers of commerce, which is leveraging its connections with local hospital systems and businesses to assist in getting the face shields to those who need them most. The face shields are a result of an entrepreneurial collaboration between GEON Performance Solutions and GOEX Corporation, manufacturer of Quality Custom Plastic Sheets in Janesville, Wisconsin.

“We are so proud of GEON for stepping up to support our community in such a meaningful way.” – Mark Boepple, President of the Power of MORE

Garrison said the move to Westlake represents a strong step in the company’s history. GEON was purchased by private investment firm SK Capital Partners in October 2019 from PolyOne Corp. “On behalf of the entire GEON community, we are thrilled to join the Westlake community, where the new facility will be a catalyst for collaboration among our customers, vendors, employees and community partners as we continue to offer excellence in performance material solutions.”

GEON’s new 11,250 sq. ft. offices will be home to its corporate and administrative staff with space to grow. The move is expected to take place over the next several weeks as more than 60 associates transition to the new location. The company’s legacy manufacturing site will remain in Avon Lake along with a newly renovated R&D Solution Center and its technical support group.
