While everyone has been affected by the pandemic, for some, the pandemic has made life much more difficult. Since the pandemic has also disrupted the food supply chain, local farmers have a surplus of meat, dairy, and fresh produce that they can’t get to their usual destinations.
To help, the USDA has partnered with Christ the King Vineyard Church to distribute boxes of this surplus food to families in need so that it does not go to waste.
USDA Farmers to Families Food Boxes include farm fresh meat, dairy, and produce to feed a family of five for a week.
“Christ the King Vineyard Church is thrilled to play a small role in getting this much needed food into the hands of the families in our community.” – Rebekah Kerney, church administrator
Boxes are available to families in need at Christ the King Vineyard Church (30635 Lorain Road, North Olmsted) on Thursdays in October from 11 am – 1 pm.
No reservations are required to obtain a food box. Families simply go to the church during distribution time to receive their fresh food (while supplies last).
