Area law enforcement has been on a mission to remind folks to lock their cars and doors each night to thwart thefts of personal property.
But the midnight munchies revealed a reported unlocked door at the Westbay Plaza McDonalds on Detroit Road in Westlake on Oct. 12 at 1:30 a.m..
Westlake police were dispatched to a business alarm at the McDonalds. When they arrived, they observed a male walk out the front door of the closed restaurant. He was quickly detained.
“It was also apparent that the 25yo Westlake resident appeared intoxicated,” report Police. “The male said that he was surprised that no one was there to take his order of chicken nuggets.”
Officers assured that no one else was inside the business and had a manager respond to properly lock it. The male was transported to the WPD jail and charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct while intoxicated.
