Wednesday, December 16 (2-3 p.m.) Wednesday Afternoon Book Discussion – This month’s title is The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin. Please register to receive Zoom instructions.
Wednesday, December 16 (4-5 p.m.) Teen Writers Group (Live) – A bi-weekly meet-up for writers in grades 7-12. This is a dedicated hour just to write. We’ll reserve the last 15 minutes for any writer in need of group brainstorming. Please register. Participants must provide an email address to receive Zoom instructions, which will be sent the day of the program.
Wednesday, December 16 (7-8 p.m.) Alfred Hitchcock: His Greatest Films (LIVE) – Join us on Zoom for a fascinating presentation on the Master of Suspense! Alfred Hitchcock was a master director of mystery movies with surprise endings in the early and middle 20th Century. He was also a very active anti-fascist as some of his movies confirm. This presentation will offer information on many of his greatest films. Please register. Participants must provide an email to receive Zoom instructions.
Thursday, December 17 (3:30-4:30 p.m.) WPPL Roblox Club – Love Roblox? Then WPPL has a club for you! We have some private servers set up for Tweens in grades 4-6 to hang out with their friends and enjoy some of the most popular games via Zoom. Please register.
Friday, December 18 (4-4:30 p.m.) Cup of Science (Live) – Join Miss Holly on Facebook, Twitter or YouTube for a fun science video about Candy Chemistry! For ages 4-6.
Friday, December 18 (4:30-5 p.m.) Adapted Storytime (Live) – Join us for this ZOOM storytime designed for children who may not be successful in a typical storytime. Content is geared toward ages 3-7 years. Registration begins December 11. Participants must provide an email address to receive Zoom instructions, which will be sent the day of the program.
Saturday, December 19 (11-11:40 a.m.) Mystery STEAM Bag Challenge – Join us on ZOOM to share your Mystery STEAM Bag designs. Grades 1-2. If you are interested in participating, please register for the “Mystery STEAM Bag Supply Pick Up”. Pick-up begins on December 12, and registration for the supplies automatically registers you for this program.
Sundays, December 20 (2-2:30 p.m.) American Girl Doll Club: Winter Fun – Join us on Zoom for some Winter fun! Supply kits, which you will need to participate in this program, will be available in the Youth Services Department beginning December 13. Ages 6-10. Please register. Registering for the supply kit also registers you for the December 20 ZOOM event. Participants must provide an email address to receive ZOOM instructions, which will be sent the day of the event.
Monday, December 21 (9 a.m.-9 p.m.) Winter Sensory Kit – Pick up a sensory kit and experience the sounds, scents, sights, and textures of the season with your child! Ages 3-7. While supplies last.

Saturday, December 26 (9 a.m.-6 p.m.) New Year’s Eve Party Pack Pick Up – Stop by the Youth Services Dept. beginning December 26 to pick up your New Year’s Eve party pack filled with everything you need to celebrate at home! While supplies last. For ages 4-7.
Saturday, December 26 (9 a.m.-6 p.m.) STEAMMaker Lab: Health and Fitness Supply Pick-Up – There are 11 major organ systems in the human organism. We’ll provide supplies to make models of two of these systems and a medical device. Supply kits are available beginning December 26. Grades 3-5. Registration begins December 19.
Monday, December 28 (9 a.m.-9 p.m.) Vision Boards Supply Pick Up – Creating a vision board puts all your dreams, goals, and aspirations directly in front of you. For teens and adults with special needs. No experience necessary. Caregivers welcome. Registering for this supply pick up also registers you for the ZOOM meeting on January 4 at 2 p.m. Registration begins December 21. You must provide an email to receive Zoom information for the January 4 program, which will be sent on the day of the event.
Monday, December 28 (9 a.m.-9 p.m.) Kinder Club – Pick up your packet at the Youth Services Desk on or after December 28. Each bag will contain multiple early literacy concepts that will be featured weekly on our Kinder Club Blog. Ages 4-6 While supplies last.
Wednesday, December 30 (7-8 p.m.) Virtual Trivia Night @ Porter (Live) – Join us on Zoom as we say goodbye to 2020 with trivia on all things New Year’s Eve! Play as a single player or as a family. Please register to get a Zoom invitation to Virtual Trivia Night.
Thursday, December 31 (11:30 a.m.-Noon) Countdown to Noon Family Storytime (Live) – Join us on Facebook, Twitter or YouTube for a special storytime featuring our favorite stories, songs, and rhymes. We will even do our own early countdown to 12:00 (noon)!
