Avon, Bay Wrestlers Place at State

Mason Cover

Bay’s Mason Cover placed 8th at State at 220 pounds in Div. II. The senior also placed 2nd at the Norwalk District Wrestling Tournament to qualify for state. He also won a Great Lakes Conference championship this year.

Mason Bingham

Avon High senior heavyweight Mason Bingham finished 7th at State last weekend and completes his high school career two-time State placer and a three-time starter on a Final Four football team for the Eagles. Mason’s legacy at Avon will be of a leader and a role model who was about doing the right things and treating people well. He leaves Avon a better place. He was a State Qualifier in 2020, 7th Place in 2021 and owns a career record of 92-25.

Cael Saxton

Cael Saxton (132) finished his amazing career at Avon High School with a 6th Place finish at State last weekend. He has many wrestling accomplishments and accolades, but none will be as great as what he meant to the school as a leader and role model. He finished 8th at State in 2019, was a State Qualifier in 2020 and claimed 6th Place in 2021. Career Record: 140-36
