The results are in and Avon Lake High School ranks at the top for best high schools in the nation, according to the 2021 Best High School rankings from U.S. News & World Report (link below).
Avon Lake High School is No.1 in Lorain County.
No. 8 in Northeast Ohio
No. 30 in Ohio
No. 756 nationally
“We are proud of the faculty and staff at Avon Lake High School for this outstanding accomplishment,” said Michael May, Avon Lake High School principal. “We offer a diverse curriculum with 25 Advanced Placement (AP) courses, 27 honors courses, a wealth of electives for all students, all while providing an excellent daily culture. In addition, our clubs, activities, and athletics provide a well-rounded extracurricular experience for our students. We are grateful to our amazing students, staff, parents, and the Avon Lake community. We appreciated their support, as well as our Board of Education and district central office staff.”
Avon Lake City Schools Superintendent Bob Scott had this to say about the rankings, “We are always excited when all of the hard work by our students, families, and staff is being recognized. Avon Lake High School creates amazing opportunities for our students which, along with dedicated support of all stakeholders, translates into success at the high school level and after graduation. It is always important to recognize the staff from Pre-kindergarten through high school when we receive these kind of accolades. Our students are well prepared to succeed as they transition to Avon Lake High School. We are proud of the recognition that we receive annually from U.S. News and World report as it shows the strength of our programing and instruction Pre-K through grade 12.”
