Students, faculty, families and friends joined together to “Brave the Shave” at Holy Trinity School’s fifth-annual St. Baldrick’s event on Friday, May 21.
- “Take a little off the top,” said Avon City Employee Billy Butts to stylist Mariah Redden of Robert Patrick Salon.
- Rock the Bald!! The student Jacob Vrbancic in the chair with Barber Bob Catanza however wasn’t so sure.
Thirty seven participants solicited donations for pediatric cancer research before having their heads shaved in solidarity with kids fighting cancer.
Since 2016, more than 350 members of the Holy Trinity community have shaved their heads as part of the fundraiser. To date, Holy Trinity School has raised more than $127,000 for pediatric cancer research. This year, with help from volunteer barbers from four local salons, the participants were able to raise over $27,000 and counting.

The event also included hair braiding stations whose proceeds will benefit Shanerock, a local non-profit dedicated to providing financial assistance to local families affected by pediatric cancer.
The HTS school community takes great pride in giving back to those both near and far. This school year, the HT motto is “We are Family.” Coming together to serve others and their families through this event actively lived out this motto.
