Duck® Brand Brings Back Scavenger Hunt Contest Featuring 15 Larger-Than-Life Duct Tape Creations

Community can Share Photos of the Sculptures on Social Media or Vote Online to Win Cash and Prizes

The hunt is on! This summer, Duck® brand invites you to come explore the city of Avon and surrounding areas to discover 15 colorful, attention-grabbing duct tape sculptures. Between June 19 and August 8, participants can complete the free, community-wide Duck Tape® Sculpture Scavenger Hunt and share photos of the sculptures on social media for a chance to win product and gift card prizes up to $1,000.

For 18 years, artists sponsored by the Art Academy of Cincinnati have created extraordinary sculptures using Duck® brand duct tape to display at the Avon Heritage Duck Tape® Festival. Since this year’s Festival was cancelled due to the pandemic, the sculptures will again be placed in various outside locations in and around Avon for all to appreciate during the Scavenger Hunt event. New this year, individuals across the country can join in on the fun by voting online for their favorite sculpture design and get entered to win a prize pack with gift cards up to $500. The creator of the winning sculpture will also receive a $500 cash scholarship and Duck Tape® product.

“Avon’s first city-wide Scavenger Hunt was a huge success last year and while we would have loved to gather for the Festival, this event serves as a great alternative to celebrate our community and showcase these impressive works of art,” said Ashley Luke, senior product manager, duct tapes at Shurtape Technologies, parent company of Duck Brand.

The following 15 sculptures will be placed near schools, parks, city buildings and other notable Avon and local-area landmarks:

• A blooming Pink Flower sculpture can be found at Every Child’s Playground | 36265 Detroit Rd.
• A larger-than-life Orchid will be placed outside Avon Pool | 36265 Detroit Rd.
• A blossoming Light Bulb, Flower Arch and Flower Pond sculpture will be at Crocker Park | 177 Market St., Westlake
• A giant Face Mask along with a Koi Pond, will be at Schwartz Rd. Park | 35001 Schwartz Rd.
• A Green House and Cornucopia will be outside the shops at Olde Avon | 36840 Detroit Rd.
• A Bug House and a Mythical Forest sculpture will be placed at North Gate Park |2155 Eaton Dr.
• A row of giant Sunflowers will be located at Maria’s Sunflower Field| Jaycox Rd.
• A collection of Flower Pots will be at Little League Park | 36744 Detroit Rd.
• A Flower Doorway and a Floral Rainbow will be outside Crusher’s Stadium | 2009 Baseball Blvd.

To enter, participants who are 18 years or older simply post photos or videos of the sculptures to Instagram or Twitter, entries must include the tag @TheDuckBrand, use #sweepstakes and a secret, unique hashtag found only at each sculpture location. Each post counts as an opportunity to win various prize packs, including an assortment of Duck Tape® product, gift cards and swag.
