The Avon-on-the-Lake Garden Club, Avon Lake Historical Society, and the City of Avon Lake collaborated to conceive, design, and build a serene pocket garden behind the Peter Miller House Museum in Miller Road Park to commemorate the Avon Lake Bicentennial.
This collaborative project has been over a year in the making. It includes native plants, a wheelchair accessible path, and dedication plaques on granite boulders sourced from the region. The dedication will also include the burying of a time capsule.
The time capsule contains various items collected or produced during the Avon Lake Bicentennial celebratory events. Additionally, notes from students to the future generations of Avon Lake are included.
The remarks will start at 1:00 p.m. with refreshments served afterwards. This event is open to the public.
