Congratulations to well-known Avon Lake developer Herman ‘Bucky’ Kopf for being named as Citizen of the Year by Avon Lake Community Council.
Also honored as Project of the Year is Music on a Mission D.R.E.W.
The Community Council announcement reports that Kopf’s unanimous selection is based on his long-standing generosity and philanthropy in the community. As the driving force behind projects like the Avon Lake High School baseball fields, park land for the Kopf Family Reservation and support of sports organizations and nonprofit groups in the community, Mr. Kopf’s generosity is far-reaching.
Avon Lake resident Marilyn Zeidner directs Mission Project D.R.E.W.: Delivering Restorative Energy to our Warriors. Project D.R.E.W. brings together songwriters and veterans with the goal of improving the lives of vets.
The Citizen of the Year and Project of the Year will be recognized at Avon Lake Public Library’s Waugaman Gallery at 6:30 p.m. on May 19. The event is free. Please respond to Martin O’Donnell at m.odonnell@avonlake.org to rsvp by May 16.
