Blood pressure screenings part of the complete exam.
The experts at UH Sports Medicine and UH Rainbow & Children’s are as committed to scholastic athletes as they are to professional athletes.
Over 300 student athletes converged on UH St. John Medical Center Saturday for comprehensive exams that include vision, musculoskeletal and cardiac risk assessment screenings. These exams enable athletes to participate in scholastic sports as required by the Ohio High School Athletic Association (they do not replace the annual well check up with a pediatrician).
On Friday, this same UH sports medicine team conducted 900 free sports physicals at UH Ahjua Medical Center in Beachwood.
“These sports physicals are modeled after the Browns physicals,” reports Lisa Piazza, Director UH Sports Medicine. “And the doctors here are the same ones who perform the Browns physicals.”
The free sports physicals were offered to athletes ages 14-18.
