W-WAC Has a New Name

In 1984, a group of Westlake residents wanted to bring arts and culture into the Western suburbs so they founded the Westlake Arts Council. In 2010, the name was changed to Westlake-Westshore Arts Council (W-WAC) to focus on and include the entire Westshore communities from Lakewood west to Avon and south to Olmsted Falls. As of March 1, 2023, the W-WAC is now the Westshore Arts Council (WAC). The WAC offers evening and weekend programs which are free to the public and include FYI Opera Series from Oberlin Opera Theater, Catch a Rising Star from Baldwin Wallace Music Theater, art lectures, musical recitals, and workshops. They also sponsor the Community of Fine Arts (COFA) juried art show and most programs are held at the Westlake Porter Public Library,
