Ohio Governor’s Youth Art Exhibit Features Avon Students

Victory? by Isabella Keller

Each year Governor Mike DeWine hosts the Ohio Governor’s Youth Art  Exhibition. Students throughout Ohio can submit up to five works of art to the show, but only 350 works actually make it into the show. This year, 10 works of art from Avon High School students made it past Regional judging and six pieces were selected for the show. This is a record breaking total for Avon High School. Three of the accepted works were done by senior Isabella Keller. She also received the honor of “Best 25 in Show” for her piece called “Victory?”

Senior Isabella Lane had two works selected and senior Sarah Pomfrey had one work selected.

The show runs from April 21 through May 16 at the James A. Rhodes State Office Tower, 30 East Broad Street, Columbus. Show viewing hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

Congratulations to our talented young artists.
