Lots of Fun at Avon Fishing Derby

The annual Avon Fishing Derby hosted by the Avon Lions Club on Sat., June 1 was a hit at the Northgate Park lake!

A record number of kids and families came out to enjoy perfect weather and well-stocked lake (thanks to the Avon Park & Rec Dept.).

Awards were given in all sorts of categories, from biggest to smallest fish, to most unusual catch (which went to the kid who reeled in an old tackle box!). In the end, everyone went home a winner with a gift bag and lots of memories of a great day under the sun. Thank you, Avon Lions Club!
