Freedom Festival & Fireworks: Wednesday, July 3 • Victory Park Ohio, 7777 Victory Ln. The Freedom Festival and Fireworks will be held at Victory Park Ohio, on Wednesday, July 3 from 4-11 p.m. and fireworks at approximately 10 p.m. There will be food and beverages available to purchase on-site from local vendor trailers, carts and the popular on-site restaurant Victory Grille. There will be several family-fun activities including inflatables, carnival games, miscellaneous sporting activities, glitter tattoos, a Balloon Twister, Patriotic Stilt Walker, Pony Rides & Petting Zoo, three different shows by Performance Dogs of Ohio, a water ski show by the Chippewa Lake Water Ski Team, and live music by modern rock band Modern Vinyl. The fireworks show, sponsored by the City of North Ridgeville, will last approximately 30 minutes, including an exciting grande finale! International Festival: Friday, June 28, 5-11 p.m. • Saturday, June 29, 12-11 p.m. • Sunday, June 30, 12-5 p.m., www.loraininternational.com. Located at: Black River Landing Festival Site in Lorain Ohio. The week-long festival begins the last full week of June every year, with numerous separate events taking place mainly in downtown Lorain. Various nationalities, cultures and our community are celebrated with the sharing of gifts from our many homelands through food, music, costume and tradition. The three day bazaar takes place along the scenic Black River Landing site, and features a multitude of foods with a wide variety of ethnic cuisine to sample. There is wonderful entertainment throughout the weekend including on-going live performances. Stop by the different cultural booths that feature crafts and items from many homelands. There are covered dining areas, paved walkways and free parking.

Annual July 4th Fireworks Display: Thursday, July 4, 10-10:30 p.m., https://www.lorainport.com/annual-independence-day-fireworks-display/. Every year the Lorain Port and Finance Authority sponsors a magnificent Independence Day Fireworks Display for the residents and visitors of the City of Lorain to enjoy. The display is launched from the Mile-Long Pier, 301 Lakeside Avenue, on Lorain’s East Side and begins whenever the sun completely sets. This is usually around 10 p.m. You can also watch from our livestream Port Lorain camera via Facebook or YouTube.

The Summer Market: Friday, July 19, 3-9 p.m. • Saturday July 20, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. • Black River Landing, 421 Black River Lane, www.thesummermarket.com. The Summer Market is a beautiful and unique, outdoor festival held right along the Black River in Lorain. Thousands of guests visit the Market each year to shop for furniture, architectural salvage, vintage finds, art & jewelry, coastal decor, fresh produce and a variety of other goods from more than 100 vendors. Guests can grab a bite to eat from several featured restaurants and food trucks, enjoy a cocktail by the water, enjoy live music, watch the sun set or shop in the summer sun. The Summer Market is a fundraising event for our non-profit, Girls Give Back. Proceeds benefit local families and organizations in need. It is a wonderful, feel good event that should not be missed! Especially because it only happens once a year!

Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks: Friday, July 5 • West Park, 1200 Foster Ave. The City of Elyria Parks and Recreation Department invites you to the 2024 Independence Day Celebration: 7 p.m. on Friday, July 5th, at West Park. Fireworks begin at 10:15 p.m.! Food Trucks • Live Music • Bounce Houses • Chalk Art Area • Basketball Activities • Fireworks Display. 4th of July Parade & Fireworks: Thursday, July 4 • Lakewood Park, 14532 Lake Ave. The Lakewood Fourth of July Celebration begins with a parade at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 4. The parade will step off from Kenneth and Lake Avenues and continue east to Lakewood Park. State Representative Michael J. Skindell will serve as the grand marshal of the city’s annual Fourth of July parade. At 7 p.m., the Lakewood Project, Lakewood High School’s Youth Rock Orchestra, will perform at the Bandstand at Lakewood Park. Lakewood’s annual fireworks display is set to take place on Thursday, July 4 at approximately 9:45 p.m. The rain date is Friday, July 5. The fireworks discharge area includes Kiwanis Club Pavilion and Kids’ Cove playground areas, meaning that they will be closed during the entire holiday. To ensure the events are successful and safe, the city also has a few rules for residents to keep in mind. The following rules will be in effect at Lakewood Park on Thursday, July 4:

  • For safety purposes, there will be no parking permitted in the Lakewood Park Parking Lot after 5 p.m. All vehicles in the lot must be moved by 5 p.m. or could be subject to towing.
  • All generators, propane and gas fueled grills are prohibited.
  • All tents, shelters, and beach umbrellas are prohibited.
  • Police may conduct searches of bags and containers for reasons of public safety.
  • No alcoholic beverages are permitted at any time throughout the year.
  • No personal fireworks. This includes novelty fireworks like sparklers and smoke bombs.
  • No dogs or pets of any kind will be permitted in the park on July 4th.
  • The skate park, tennis courts, and basketball courts are expected to close at 7 p.m., but may close earlier.
