Pet Pals Celebrate National Dog Day at UH SJMC

UH St. John Medical Center in Westlake celebrated National Dog Day on Aug. 26 by hosting pooches from the hospital’s Pet Pals program for a meet & greet in the hospital’s Main Entrance lobby.

“This event highlighted our wonderful Pet Pals, who visit the hospital every week and bring smiles to patients, visitors, and staff,” said Pamela Kronz, Patient Relations Lead/Volunteer Coordinator.

National Dog Day celebrates all dogs, mixed breed and pure. Their mission is to help galvanize the public to recognize the number of dogs that need to be rescued each year and acknowledge family dogs and dogs that work selflessly each day to save lives, keep us safe and bring comfort.

Dogs put their lives on the line every day…for personal protection, for law enforcement, for the disabled, for our freedom and safety by detecting bombs and drugs and pulling victims of tragedy from wreckage, now they’re detecting cancer and seizures…things even humans cannot do.
