The City of Avon hosted a solemn 9-11 ceremony the morning of Sept. 11 at its Veterans Memorial within the aquatic center park.
Police and fire officials gathered to pray and hear words from Mayor Bryan Jensen as the short ceremony emphasized the community vow to never forget the events of that tragic day. Taps from VFW Commander Kerry Barvincak and the sounds from officer Keith Haag’s bagpipes filled the air with Amazing Grace as all adjourned to carry on in the solemn day.
